Hello, everyone! Isabelle Knight here again with another NaNoWriMo update! As you know, I have started my brand new MG Fantay for NaNoWriMo, and I have been making pretty good progress! So without further ado, here is my writing update for these past few days!
Somehow, I have managed to achieve daily par every day (sometimes even surpass that), which is AMAZING! My average words per day is around 2K, and one thing that’s really been helping me is writing sprints. There is a website, wordsprints.org, where you can set your own personal sprints (or join a group), and the timer is literally live. There’s no stopping it. Once you set it, you have to just do the writing sprint. And that really helps me and stops me procrastinating, which is one of my secrets to achieving daily par every day! That and fast typing. 😜😉
Yesterday, I wrote around 3K because I had a lot of time and was pretty bored. My book is currently resting at 50K (I started in October), and I have completed 40% of my writing goal for NaNoWriMo which is 50,000 words, which means I have written 20,000 words. In 8 days. I’m on a roll for now.
Sadly, dear readers, I fear (and know) that sooner or later I’m going to hit a roadblock and end up at the bottom of a muddy ditch. I just hope it doesn’t happen during NaNoWriMo. Another thing that’s helped me get through this month so far is the wonderful community of authors! Writing can be pretty lonely at times, but NaNoWriMo has such an amazing community of authors! So many of them I have met during HQ events and at storycraft.cafe (a community of writers), and now I have a bunch of writing buddies and it really keeps me going through NaNoWriMo because I know I’m not alone, and there are a bunch of other authors out there!
Now my life outside writing: I’ve been having fun, traveling around. I have been reading Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger (am LOVING IT! Also really jealous of her. In a fun, unserious way, of course) and went to the beach just yesterday and plan to go kayaking there! I am in Thailand, after all. I’ve decorated my desk and have been chatting with a bunch of my writer friends. I’m also recovering well from stomach flu though I still have a bit of a cough.
I have a bunch of books I plan to read and am happily planning the release of book three of Enchantria! And yes, book three of Enchantria is coming soon! Release date undetermined. And of course, I have to finish up editing the book, though there will undoubtedly be a few mistakes that slip through my fingeres.
But overall, NaNoWriMo has been going amazing for me! It’s been fun, productive, and I’ve gotten to meet a bunch of authors all over the world who write a whole bunch of genres, and my new MG Fantasy book is coming together messily!
So, yeah. I think that wraps up this writing update. Thank you, guys, so much for coming, and don’t forget to check out the Enchantria books on Amazon! Or just go to the Books page of this blog and you’ll see a list of all my books with links to where to buy them! Also, please stay updated on this blog for the next few months for news on the release of book three, teasers, and the cover reveal, all coming soon!
