Wow – never in my life would I have ever thought I’d be writing these words. Eep! But hello everyone! Isabelle Knight back here again after being MIA (missing in action) for a while!!! But you’ll find out why I’ve been missing in action very soon!!! Actually, one of the reasons is in this post!!!
I’ve been pretty busy dealing with several author interviews and book reviews recently, and eek!! I am super excited to tell you guys that I’ve done another author interview which is now posted on YouTube!!! And I was so excited for this one!!
If you guys know me, then you probably know who my favorite author is – Gail Carson Levine. She is the author of several children’s novels including Ella Enchanted (which won the Newbery!!! Eeep!), The Two Princesses of Bamarre, Writing Magic: Creating Stories that Fly, Dave at Night, Ever, Fairest, and so many more! Her book, Ella Enchanted, was the first novel I’d ever read and loved and remembered, and Writing Magic was actually the book that inspired me to become an author.
So I guess I have Gail Carson Levine to thank for a huge part of my writing journey. And ever since then, I’ve pretty much always wanted to meet her. Which is why I reached out to her to do an interview! And she said yes!!! Eeek!!!!
She was actually one of the first authors I reached out to to do an interview, but due to chaotic deadlines and me getting sick, it’s taken several months to arrange it (life has been so hectic for both of us!!). But we did it!!!
And so yesterday night, I was able to speak with/interview Gail for around 15 minutes on phone call which was absolutely incredible, and the interview has now been posted on YouTube which you can find here!
I was only able to speak with her for 15 minutes (not as long as my usual interviews, but honestly, that might be a good thing haha. It’s certainly more organized than my usual interviews!), but they were certainly some amazing 15 minutes, and to be honest, I am just pretty much in awe that I actually got to speak with my favorite author!! She was really kind and amazing to speak with, and she also offered some great advice for young writers!
So if you want to check out that interview, either use that embed or click the link above the embed to join me and Gail Carson Levine for a chat about how she wrote her book Ella Enchanted, how she got started as a writer, and to also hear some of her fantastic writing advice!!! ^^
So yeah! I suppose I shall have to wrap up this blog post despite how much I want to go on and on about the interview (it really is a magical thing once you get to meet someone who’s really inspired you a lot!), I have writing to do, Inciting Incidents to write (Island Keepers is NOT going well!!!!), Act Two’s to struggle with, and all that. So you’ll just have to listen to the interview yourself, I guess! 🙂
Thank you guys so much for coming, and I shall see you again in the next post!
Isabelle
P.S. Warning: I might be MIA (missing in action) for a few more days/weeks just because life has gotten so hectic, and I’m supposed to speak with another fantabulous author later today!!! Her books are amazing, and I’m so excited to speak with her!
P.P.S. I will continue to upload videos to my YouTube channel regularly, so there’s that at least! Right? 🙃 Don’t worry – I shall get back to blogging as soon as I find the time!!!! Pinkie swear!!! Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!!
