Heyyyy…. welcome back… I’m sure you saw the above title so… hehee…. Don’t worry! Well, I mean, maybe you should worry just a little bit, but ack, there’s just so much going on rn!!! But yeah! Welcome back to another writing update!!!
So, as I mentioned in my previous writing update, I’ve been working on revising Enchantria book four and editing it and making handwritten notes on paper. I’m getting to the climax, and ahhhh, the writer’s side of me is FREAKING OUT. I feel like there were a lot of things I had happening just for the sake of happening, and that was mainly because there were so many ideas I wanted to incorporate and I tried to shove them all in there.
So I really don’t know what I’m gonna do about that…..
Ummmmm….
I’m half considering just starting from scratch to rewrite book four, but I don’t know how I’d even bring myself to do that!!! I have two pages left to edit, and then, I shall go off to print the rest of my manuscript. The things my printer must go through….
And I’ve also been writing Island Keepers book three – the first draft of it – and eeeek, I just finished writing my two thousand words for the day and left my MC at the bottom of a mist-covered mountain to complete a challenge…. Mwahahahaha…. And there are earthquakes, tornadoes, the whole island is against her. 🙂 Nothing serious, right?
Today was a relatively rainy day. It was dark. Dreary. The clouds covered the sky. MY FAVORITE WEATHER OF ALL TIME!!! And before you go around thinking I’m weird, this is perfect writing weather, for me at least, and the whole day just feels nice and slow and quiet and relaxing and ahhh…. (sighs in relief)
That is, until I start freaking about books.
Which I do.
Quite a lot.
And it’s also what my writing buddy keeps telling me NOT to do and she’s always telling me to give myself my break. I AM TRYING BUT I AM FAILING!!!!!!!!!!! Ack!
And of course, there is my ‘secret project’ that’s going on and honestly, I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO DO. I’m just writing random scenes for it, and tryyyyiiiiiiing to get this thing together but… T.T I was hoping for it to be all meaningful and moving and powerful, like When You Trap a Tiger, but I just don’t know how Tae Keller does it!!!! If she accepts my interview request, I am SO asking her!!! No, scratch that, I am so gonna be demanding answers!! Politely, of course. ;D
It has a lot to do with stories and a dragon and honestly……………………………. it’s………………………. um……………………………………………. I don’t even know the words and I am freaking out inside. I don’t even know if this thing will be published or if it’s gonna be good enough. Because I REALLY want it to be good!!!! But I mean, it’s the first draft, so… I’m definitely going to have to look up a lot of stuff, though.
So, yeah! That’s what’s been going on in terms of writing. In terms of life….. ack! A lot of stuff has been going on, especially since I’m no longer gonna get Kindle Unlimited. (gasp) THE HORROR! AAAND it’s just now that I suddenly find so many new books on there!!! Right now, this is my reading list that I just found THIS MORNING.
- Onyeka and the Academy of the Sun (enjoying this!)
- A book by Avi that I don’t know the name of (haven’t started)
- Hag Storm by Victoria Williamson (am so intrigued….)
- Kitty Tweddle and the Wishing Well (haven’t started. AND there’s a book two!)
- Must re-read Believe by Julie Mathison
- Must re-read Wish by Barbara O’Connor
ACK!!!! SO MANY BOOKS! MUST FINISH IN TWENTY DAYS!!! SEND HELP.
Heheheheeeee….. sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo…………. yeaaaahhh… a lot of stuff. And I’m also going to be doing several author interviews which are gonna be eeek, so exciting!!!!
So yeah, that’s what’s been going on in my life right now. Oh, and I’m trying not to fail math too. ;D And honestly, I’m thinking that once I’m done with edits and shift into ‘writer’s mode’ for book four of the Enchantria series, all projects are gonna have to be put down. And then there’s my secret project which I’m bringing up again, and AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I MUST STOP STRESSING ABOUT!!!!
But I will hopefully/maybe get through this!! Right?
Anyway, I should probably wrap this up now. Thank you guys so much for coming and I shall see you again in the next post!!! Oh, and if you wanna stay updated, there is now a ‘follow my blog’ option on the top bar thingy on my blog!!! 🙂
Isabelle
Thanks for the peek into your writing life. My mentor taught me to read widely but then to focus on the kernel of my story. What is the main theme/pitch of your book? Maybe that will help reign in all those ideas!
Haha! More like a peek into ‘Isabelle’s panic-attack mode’. The main theme/pitch… hmm… A girl must fulfill her destiny to save the land from the clutches of evil with the help of the stars and her friends.
Huh, perhaps that might help. Thanks, Carol! 🙂
You are such a productive writer, with so many books on the go! Just enjoy writing your stories, and tell them your way. Don’t try too make things too deep and meaningful, they will just come across as pretentious if you do, just write from the heart (I’m sure you already know this! 🙂 ) It’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the things you want to get done, just try to bring it down to one or two priorities each day/week/month. Best of luck with all your stories! BTW I signed up for your blog, usually you just have to enter an email but I seem to have a log in now?? Is that right?
:)) Thank you so much!! And hmm… perhaps that is a good idea for me to just write from the heart. As for the blog, oof. Yeah, sorry about that – my blog apparently isn’t built on wordpress, so… Well, idk. That’s just the one my dad figured out for now. Hopefully it’s not a bother?
Hag Storm is great (I am a huge Victoria Williamson fan!) and I loved The Pawnshop of Stolen Dreams, War of the Wind, Nora’s Ark, and SKyfleet. Highly recommend them all (if you can get hold of a copy). Good luck with your reading sprint! Sorry you are losing KU
Yeah! I just finished Hag Storm! Oh my goodness, I KNEW Morven was up to something!!!! Hehe. Thanks!!! Good luck with your writing and reading too!!
