Hey, all! No August writing update this month either because……. uhhh I don’t feel like it… Island Keepers STILL isn’t working. Am I considering giving up on this book?? YES. (sighs) Oh good grief, we’ll see… But really, I am close to the point of just giving up on this story.
But we are not here today to talk about that. I actually wanted to share a free verse poem I wrote around a month ago that I completely forgot about and found in my Whatever notebook! Without further ado, here’s the poem!
This little scribble
that I pen down
on this scrap of paper.
Oh, look how tiny the words are,
Oh, look how rough this scrap of paper is.
Just think how implausible
it would be,
for such a little scribble,
to be anything
more.
And yet
I keep putting them down
scribble by scribble
by messy scribble
until one day I look up and see
I am exactly where I wished to be.
Scribble by scribble
by messy scribble.
So yeah! Just wanted to share this free verse poem I wrote on August 6th with you! Hope your writing is going better than mine!

I love this!!! And don’t give up on your story. File it away. Start something new. It’ll be waiting for you when you’re ready to go back to it.
Thank you! I’m glad you like the poem! And haha, I wouuuld file the story away, except I have this mindset of “I WILL KEEP CLINGING TO THIS TILL MY FINGERS BLEED!”
Lovely poem, Isabelle! 🙂 Keep scribbling!
Thank you, Valinora!! Indeed — any writer who’s reading this, keep scribbling away!
Ah yes. The moment of why-did-I-ever-even-start-this.
Just remember that every bit of writing is helping you learn and grow, even if you don’t ever end up doing anything with it!! And we all believe in you, Isabelle!!
(I love your poetry!!)
Yep. That moment. XD And thank you for your words, Journey! 🙂 It’s a very much needed reminder for us all. Glad you like my poetry!
