Spring.
It is such a lovely season, in my opinion. It has and always will be one of my favorites. There’s just something so beautiful about it — the way life begins again and the snow and bitter cold give way to warmth and flowers.
“Nothing ever seems impossible in spring, you know,” as L.M Montgomery wrote in Anne of Ingleside. And I do think that is so very true. In spring, everything feels so wild and possible. Summer is coming up, winter is fading, and days of warmth and sunlight and freedom are soon to arrive.
Soon, I’ll be back home in China, among my bookshelves (and my dear old books which I have greatly missed these past six months while in Thailand) and in my little writing shed. Soon, I hope to once again try to plant some zinnias and marigolds.
Spring really is also quite a nostalgic time for me. And part of me can’t believe it has already rolled around. I still remember March last year, when I was revising the final book in my series and had finally untangled all the knots that I never thought I’d be able to untangle.
And now I’m sort of back here again. With a whole new story to explore.
Now, I’ve got no clue what these next few months have in store for me. However, I’m hoping to get to the middle of my story this season. And then perhaps get back to Island Keepers during the summer. I am both incredibly nervous and full of hope and excitement for this new season. 🙂
Of course, with me very much wanting to charge out and do everything, it also means my priorities are just a tad mixed up at the moment. *waves a hand* It shall all work out in the end, I’m sure.
Another thing I’m hoping to do is to journal some more. <3 I started keeping a little journal after reading a most wonderful Victorian series (that is, set in the Victorian era. Not written during the Victorian era), The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion, and it has been absolutely wonderful. It has helped me so very much in my own writing, and it’s just… a strangely lovely feeling to have your own journal, full of your own little private thoughts (and character rants) and doodles.
Such as this little drawing I did in the corner of my journal earlier today:

I’d love to also try and explore my villain some more during March. I have not been writing all that much, but I am most intrigued by her… and also a tad befuddled. She has yet to appear in my story, but I am just itching to write her. Though I must admit, most of the story is just based on vibes so far…
This is a bit of a shorter note to y’all, but… yeah. :)) Do let me know what your own plans for this spring are and how your writing has been going! I would love to hear from you all!
And before I leave you, I have a little poem I write a while ago.

apologies for the slightly blurry photo, but alas, the high quality one I took was is on the phone. *sigh*
Do let me know down in the comments what you thought and if you have any plans for spring! <3 (And also what your favorite thing about spring is!) I love hearing from y’all!
Till next time, and wishing you a wonderful spring full of reading,
-Isabelle
