If you’re an author or publicist looking to request a book review, feel free to take a look down below at the kinds of books I enjoy reading and reviewing to see if I would be a good fit for you!

What I Review

My main focus is middle-grade fiction, because I am indeed a middle-grader, and it is an age category that is very close and very dear to my heart! ^^ I will happily read just about any genre in middle-grade fiction, but these are my favorite genres to read:

  • Fantasy!!! Fantasy is my favorite genre, be it low fantasy or high fantasy!
  • Magic realism: Ordinary life with a sprinkle of magic! I especially love these and am looking for more of these books!
  • Contemporary: I love contemporary books full of friendship, identity, and family!
  • Mystery: I adore mystery novels!!! (Especially murder mysteries — it’s hard to find murder mysteries for middle-grade!) Especially mystery novels that also involve clues and ciphers!
  • Historical fiction: This is one of my favorite genres to read!
  • Novels in verse: I love well-told novels in verse!!! (Especially those that rhyme, though I adore free verse poetry as well!)

I will also review chapter books and picture books if any come along, however the main focus of my blog is on middle-grade books, so I will be less likely to accept chapter book and picture book requests.

What I Won’t Review

  • I very rarely read and review young adult books because I really have not found myself that interested in YA books. However, there are an occasional few I do stumble across that I will read. I quite like clean YA dystopian with a bit of sci-fi, so if you have a book like that, you can try and send it along! Just note that I am less likely to accept YA book review requests. I do enjoy clean young adult reads, though, especially those with a fairytale-esque style (like The Seventh Raven by David Elliott or Springborn by Carrie Anne Noble.) And if you have a Christian young adult read, feel free to send it along!! I adore Christian young adult!
  • Any books focused on romance. Just not for me. Small romance subplots are perfectly fine.
  • Anything graphic or anything with swearing in them.
  • I will sometimes accept nonfiction books for review, provided they’re written in an engaging way. Sometimes, but not often.
  • Horror. This is a genre that is often hit or miss for me. I like spooky middle-grade reads, but full-on horror isn’t really something I enjoy reading too much, which is why I don’t typically accept horror review requests.

Other Info

I prefer digital copies as an EPUB or PDF file because they’re easy to upload to my Kindle to read. I adore physical copies, but seeing as how I am currently living in Asia, this may be both inconvenient and expensive. (If you want to send a physical copy, you can! But it might be less convenient than a digital copy.)

Audiobooks are not the best format to send digital copies to me, due to the fact that I am very very picky about my audiobook narrators.

I am open to using Edelweiss and NetGalley to read and review the book.

I post my reviews only on my blog. Very rarely do I post reviews on Amazon or Goodreads for professional reasons.

I am most open to doing any book reviews for blog tours! And I love reading books by fellow indie authors!

Please note: I will sometimes read a sample of your book on Amazon (if it’s been released/is available there) before accepting a review request, just to get a taste of the writing. If I find a large amount of grammar/spelling errors that might distract me from the story, I will likely turn down the review request.

I also may turn down review requests if my current list of ARC reads is far too long and I cannot manage another ARC of a book to review.

To Submit a Review Request

If you think you have a book that fits my tastes, then feel free to end it along to [email protected]. In your email, please include the following:

  • The book title
  • Release date
  • Publisher (if applicable). If you are an indie author, just mention that in the email.
  • The genre, age category, and number of words.
  • An Amazon or Goodreads link to your book.
  • The book blurb.

It can take me a while to get back to you because I currently have a lot of ARCs I’m juggling and life has been chaos, so it can take me up to two weeks to respond. If you haven’t heard back from me by then, feel free to email me again!
