Fine, not that scary!!! But it kinda is a bit scary. And really different from what I’ve usually done. But anyway. Recently I posted about NaNoWriMo ending. It’s been a huge staple in the writing community, and it’s changed countless lives. But it’s ending due to lack of funds and other things that I won’t really mention right now. And someone in my writing group mentioned doing a petition to save it.
And… well, me being totally crazy, I actually started a petition.
So yes, that has been chaotic. I currently have around 10 signatures which is way better than I expected (thank you, guys!!!!!!!!!!) and you can find the petition here: https://chng.it/LmKPjM5jps. I know the organization has a lot of flaws and I know that the team who worked there did not handle any of the problems properly. But at the same time, it’s been such a huge staple in the writing community. I will admit, it has had it’s problems and the team who worked there refused to manage them properly.
But I still believe NaNoWriMo itself should remain. And I believe that with quite a few changes, including a change of staff/board directors, perhaps it wouldn’t have to just disappear like that. I’m not saying the whole organization of it has to come back. I don’t think we can do much about that.
But with this petition, what I hope to do is to urge people to keep the spirit of the challenge alive. Write. Reach for your dreams and write 50K words in the month of November. So yeah! If you want to keep the spirit of NaNoWriMo alive, then please sign this petition!!
Thank you guys so much for coming and listening to me!!! 🙂 I shall see thee again in my next post!!!
