Oh, hello, all you wonderful bookworms and writers!! I hope all you American folk have had a splendiferous Fourth of July weekend!! And that all of you non-Americans have had a splendiferous week anyway. Writing’s been going interestingly for me (villains! strange forests! Act Three!), and it is somehow both fun and terrifying to be this close to writing The End on this story. (After all, what do you mean this first draft is going to be finished and I can’t work on it any more till revisions?!)
Also, there is the fact that I am probably going to have to pick up Island Keepers again but let’s not think about that shall we.*
*actually, I’m feeling much better about Island Keepers after a seven month break and do, in fact, look forward to writing it. There is just the fact that I’d have to then write it instead of thinking about writing it. XD
I haven’t been posting much on my blog or YouTube channel, due to being utterly knee-deep in writing my novel, and I still likely won’t be posting as much as I did before. But, I had a fun idea for this blog that perhaps we could do over the summer!
I’ve wanted to share writing tips for a really long time now. And while I do share the occasional writing tip over here and over on Substack, I would love to share some more, whether it’s about writer’s block, finishing the first draft, or even just writing exercises!
So what I thought we could perhaps do on this blog was to have some of y’all submit writing questions! (You can leave them in the comments of this post.) Whether they are just common questions you’d like to hear my take on — writing book blurbs! Synopisis (synopsi? Synopises? Is there a plural for synopsis??) Writer’s block! Character arcs! Villains not telling you anything about their nefarious plans! — or any specific conundrums you’ve been having with your WIP!
Other writers here are also free to pitch in with some of their own opinions on these writerly conundrums!! If you do wish to pitch in and offer some of your own thoughts, please try to keep your advice constructive! (Not y’all need this reminder, but I’m just putting this out there regardless.)
I am not entirely certain how this will go. And I’m no total complete expert on writing. A lot of these will just be some of my own musings and opinions and I’ll try and share tips and tricks that’ve helped me a lot when facing these problems. There is no guarantee every single one will work for you, but you might still take away something useful! Or, at the very least, you can get some of the problems you’ve been hacking away at in your writing off your chest.
So yeah!! I’ve never really done anything like this before, but I think this would be fun to do! :DD (And give me ideas of what to post, since I… have been neglecting my blog and YouTube channel. Just a bit.)
Of course, there’s also the possibility nobody submits questions and I’m going to look like a moron for posting this but just like with Island Keepers, let us not think about that shall we.
Till next time!

P.S. Editing Isabelle here and synopsis DOES have a plural, actually. It’s synopses. XD The “is” is changed to an “es”. And I realize I’ve heard people say this word before, only my brain blanked out on it when writing this post.
P.P.S. I was also interviewed recently!!! A huge thank you to The Bluebell Review for having me on their podcast!! It was oh so fun to answer the writing questions, and you can now check it out here! (The Bluebell Review is also a magazine!!! And they have all sorts of fun stuff over on their page, so make sure to check that out too! Especially if you’re a fellow young writer looking to submit short stories to magazines!) If the embed below doesn’t work, you can go here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Dj5CTqhnIM
P.P.S. I’ve (officially!) renamed the Uncategorized category on my blog to Miscellaneous and for some reason, I’m so happy about that. XD
